There are a few roles we would like parents to help with and take some of the workload off the coaches.
If there are any parents who would like to help Mark with the coaching please contact him. We will arrange courses you can attend and develop your coaching skills.
We also would like a parent or parents to help with writing match reports for the website and the local newspaper. We just require the result, who scored tries, the playing squad, and a few words on the game with any man of match winners etc
We require a team manager to welcome new players and complete a membership form. If they enjoy the 2-3 week free taster sessions ensure they become RFU registered and create a player ID card to allow them to play competitive games and collect their membership subs.
This season the RFU introduced new rules for the under 10s which involved an increase in the team size to 8 players and introduction of the scrum and playing on larger pitches.
After a slow start to the season the squad started to gain confidence and finished in 3rd place at the district festival. As they approached the Christmas break 2 defeats at :Littleborough spoilt a good winning streak. After Christmas the momentum was still there and the victories against most clubs was the squads reward. The highlight of the season was winning the Vale of Lune Festival and finishing group winners at the Huddersfield and Sandal festivals.

>The under 11s will play 9 a side midi contact rugby on a half size pitch. This season sees the introduction of an extra player in the backs, kicking the ball and contested strike in the scrum. Competition for the ball at the breakdown is now tackler/ball carrier plus two players.
We are always looking for new players to join and boost the squad numbers to be able to run several teams so everyone gets a game. During training sessions the squad is often split into 2 groups, the experienced players and the new player development squad. This allows the new players to learn the basic skills at their own pace and when up to speed can transfer to the experienced player squad.
So if you are an experienced player or new to the game just come down on a Sunday morning 10am - Noon September to April for some free taster sessions before deciding to join. We are based in Copley and please check the under 7s fixture list to see when they are training or have home games some weeks they play away games at other clubs.
