There are a few roles we would like parents to help with and take some of the workload off the coaches.
If there are any parents who would like to help Toby and Steve with the coaching please contact them. We will arrange courses you can attend and develop your coaching skills.
We are looking for a parent or parents to help with writing match reports for the website and the local newspaper. Its not a time consuming task or requires knowledge of rugby. We just like to record the match results, the team sheet and who scored the tries plus the man of the match. If who wish you can add a match summary. The players do like to see their names in the paper and on the website.
We require a team manager to welcome new players and ensure they become RFU registered and create a player ID card to allow them to play competitive games.
The u11s have a squad of 26 players and run 2 sides the Cheetahs and Leopards. They had another great season playing 39 games won 30 drew 6 and lost 3. They started well winning the Moortown Festival and were unbeaten in the District Festival but drew too many games to win the competition. At the Christmas break they had lost only 2 games both in festivals to Wharfedale.
In the second half of the season they continued to produce some excellent rugby winning all their games with the exception of a defeat to Huddersfield. The season finished with an enjoyable Midlands tour playing Camp Hill, Pershore and Stratford on Avon. The highlights of the season were winning the Moortown festival and district festival runners up.

This season is the last season as a mini sqauad. This is a key development stage as the squad prpare for junior rugby next season.
The squad have a big team 5 coaches with RFU Coaching qualifications and ideally we would like another parent to take on a coaching assistant role. Coaches will ensure all players of all abilities have a pleasurable rugby experience in a safe and controlled environment. There are will be a number of players returning again this year but it would be great to see more new arrivals, both those who are encountering rugby for the first time or those who are looking to supplement some experience gained at school or other clubs. The emphasis is on enjoyment and team spirit through rugby. Winning is an enjoyable experience, but if you achieve pleasure from the game success often comes as a by-product.
The under 12s play 12 a side midi contact rugby on a half pitch. Three more players are introduced, 2 second rows to make a 5 man scrum and a full back. There is now unlimited contest for the ball and the scrums are made up of nearest 5 players and a contested strike for the ball. On match day Sundays the squad meet at 10am and train/warm up till 11am when the matches start. Some Sundays are dedicated to training/player development, these are on average one Sunday per month (see fixtures on the menu bar).
